Rev. Robert T. Byrne
Rev. Robert T. Byrne or Pastor Bob or PB as he is known by those he is called to serve is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He and family (Spouse for 38 years Chris McCutcheon Byrne, two sons Michael, 29, of Glendale, AZ and Steven, 26, Berkley, CA) have lived in the Carolinas since 1984.
Rev. Byrne holds a Bachelors degree in Economics Summa Cum Laude from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio; a Masters of Arts degree in Managerial Economics from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio; and a Masters of Divinity degree from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina.

He came to the ordained ministry as a second career with a strong background in the private sector. He was employed for 18 years by Reliance Electric Company in various management positions beginning as a Buyer in 1972 and resigning as the Controller of the Engineered Motor Division to attend seminary in 1990.
In these positions he used the educational background and gained practical experience in various areas of management and financial management in a manufacturing environment. These included negotiating; financial analysis; operations accounting; sort and long term planning and personnel management.
Rev. Byrne graduated from LTSS in 1995 and has served several parishes in the Carolinas. As a steward of God's gifts and talents he seeks to integrate life experiences prior to becoming a pastor when bringing the truth of the Gospel into the lives of those he is called to serve. He began his ministry in Aiken responding to a Call from St. Paul Lutheran Church beginning the first Sunday of December 2005.
Beth Barkhau, Diaconal Minister

Our Diaconal Minister, Beth Barkhau, who is a graduate of Carthage College and Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, was called to serve St. Paul in March 2000 as the second rostered leader of the congregation.
Diaconal Ministers are called to positions that exemplify the servant life always seeking to equip and motivate others to live it both in the congregational setting and at the intersection of church and world. At St. Paul, Beth supports worship, social outreach, evangelism, youth and the educational ministries.
She is married to Bob and together they have two children, Philip and Evan. Beth enjoys golfing, quilting, gardening and international travel.

Kathleen Cartledge, Director of Music
 Kathleen Cartledge, Director of Music, is a graduate of Augusta State University with a Bachelors degree in Music, a minor in Education. In music, her major was in Organ, minor in piano, flute and mallet percussion. She attends Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary part time and is married to George - musician, photographer, A-V consultant and computer tech.
An accomplished accompanist and director, Kathleen has served in music ministry since 1978. In the 1980s, she was the Children's Choir Seminar Instructor for the Piedmont Diocese of the Episcopal church, specializing in using Orff and Traditional Accompaniment instruments in Sacred Children's Choirs. In the 1990s, as Lead Accompanist of the Columbia County Choral Society, Evans, GA, she was featured in concerts in the CSRA.
A composer and arranger of music for choirs, instruments and keyboard, Kathleen came to St. Paul in August of 1997. An Associate in Ministry Candidate in the E.L.C.A., she oversees Music Ministries of the church, directs eight vocal/instrumental choirs and ensembles, conducts the annual Music, Art and Drama Camp for children and youth, and is concert coordinator for the St. Paul Concert Committee.
Dean of the area chapter of American Guild of Organists, Kathleen is a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, Association of Lutheran Musicians, Royal School of Church Music, American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and Choristers Guild.
Jamie Anderegg

Worship musician Jamie Anderegg is the newest addition to the staff at St. Paul. He is the leader of the new YaWaY alternative-style worship service.
Anderegg has led worship services in Brazil, Japan, the Marshall Islands and here in the United States.
Ginger Hicks
 Ginger Hicks is the Church Secretary/Administrator at St. Paul. Her duties include managing the office, maintaining Member Connect, and publishing bulletins and monthly newsletters.
Prior to working at St. Paul, Ginger had a variety of office experiences that include working in law firms. She is married to Micah Hicks and they have three children. Micah William, born in 2007 and boy/girl twins Oliver and Marion, born in December 2009. Ginger is originally from Greenville, SC, where she received an Associate Degree in Public Service/Paralegal.
Her interests are reading, playing sports, cooking and traveling. She enjoys working with people and hopes that her presence at St. Paul is a pleasant one for all that make her acquaintance.
