Prayer & Support

Prayer Requests

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

Prayer is an important part of life at St. Paul, and we offer many opportunities to request prayers for yourself, your loved ones, and friends. You are invited to use any that seem appropriate to you.

To have your requests lifted up during Sunday services and carried with our staff and prayer chain throughout the week, write them in the Prayer Book in the Nave, which is located by the baptismal font as you enter the worship space.

To share your requests with us online, please use the link below so that we may also lift those listed on your request up in prayer.

Stephen Ministry

Bear one another's burdens, and in this way
you will fulfill the law of Christ.
 -Galatians 6:2

Stephen Ministry is a ministry of this congregation in which trained Stephen Ministers provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those among us who are experiencing difficult life circumstances and want someone to walk with them. This Ministry is confidential - only you and your Stephen Minister will know what you discuss. Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring and confidential relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need to support them. Check out the videos below for additional information on what a Stephen Minister is and how they can support you.

This confidential, Christian caregiving is a vital part of the total healing ministry of Christ's body, the church. Stephen Ministers are trained to aid their care receivers to deal more effectively with their own situations. They are lay people who have received 50 hours of training in how to provide distinctively Christian care. A Stephen Minister is not a counselor, therapist, a problem solver or a casual visitor. These are some of the issues for which people may receive help from a Stephen Minister:

  • Struggling with faith in God
  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Separation or Divorce
  • Death or terminal illness of a loved one
  • Loss of a job
  • Hospitalization
  • New to our community
  • Life transitions
  • Pregnancy/Adoption
  • Aging and elderly
  • Other concerns

More details on what a Stephen Minster does can be found here.
