Visiting Tips

Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little overwhelming. This page is here to help you know what to expect. At St. Paul, you will find friendly, welcoming people who are genuinely glad you are here and want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive.

There is no pressure or expectation—just an open invitation to explore faith at your own pace. Everyone is warmly welcomed, no matter your background or where you are on your faith journey.

What to Wear:

Come as you are and dress in what feels comfortable for you. Most people wear casual clothing, but you will also see some wearing their “Sunday best” or business casual attire.

Communion:

Holy Communion is God’s meal, open to all of God’s baptized children. In this meal, Jesus Christ is truly present and remembered in the bread and wine that are shared. We serve Communion every Sunday at every service.

During 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services, you are invited to kneel at the altar (if you are able) and choose to dip the bread into the cup, or take the bread separately and drink from the common cup. You are welcome to receive both bread and wine, or only one of the elements; Christ is fully present in either.

During the 9:45 Contemporary Service, communion is served at stations in front of the altar and you will dip the bread in the cup of wine.

Gluten-free wafers and grape juice are available for those who need them; simply let the usher know as you come forward, and you will receive a card to place on the altar rail so the communion assistants are aware.

If you prefer not to receive communion, you may come forward for a blessing. Crossing your arms over your chest lets the Pastor know you wish to receive a blessing only.  You are also invited to remain in your seat for quiet prayer.

Children and Nursery:

Children are always welcome in worship at St. Paul. If your child needs a little break, a lovely nursery is available during any service.

To use the nursery, please speak with an usher, who will notify a nursery volunteer and help you get your child settled.

Accessibility:

St. Paul is designed to be very accessible for those with physical limitations. There are no stairs or curbs from the parking lot throughout the church grounds, and a wheelchair is available for urgent needs. Handicapped parking is available near the front of the building.

Assistive Listening devices are available for worshippers who are hearing impaired, and our use of projectors and large-print displays help many people participate more fully in the service.
